[Guide] Wine Making

Post by Soluna »

Newly introduced mini game from G10.S2, players will be able to make wine in game.

Why make wine?
Well, for one there is 2 special title to be gotten from wine making. Another is that you can get special orders to take on special shadow missions.
In addition to those, if you make the best wine, your wine will also be on NPC's shops netting you some nice profits.

Where to make wine?
To begin making wine you must first head to the Blago Praire. There will be 2 wine making farms on the map. Each one use different grapes to make the wine, and you will receive different title depending on which one you choose.

How to make wine?
First step in making wine would be obviously gather the grapes, simply click on the grapes with empty hands and you can collect the grapes on the farm. Remember to pick the right type of grapes for the farm you choose to make the wine for. To make the wine, you need 50 grapes total originally, but it is not reduced to 20 grapes only.

Process of making wine!
After you have collect the grapes, talk to the respective NPCs at the respective farms and begin the process of making wine!
You will see a window similar to that of the farming window with 4 different stats!
:Acidity: Freshness: Purity: Aging:

Like farming you want to raise these stats up to as close to 100 as possible. At beginning, everything is at 100, but aging will be at 0. However, as time passes, the wine will have impurity in it and become less fresh, so changing the barrel is needed for the wine and that's where the mini game comes in.

Let's take a closer look at the 4 different stats to have a better understanding now!

Acidity: sweet and sourness of the wine, 100 is the best, however by changing barrels, you allow the wine to make contact to air, which will slowly reduce the levels. You can gain back 1~3 points by using maximum flow (more on this later).

Freshness: dirty barrels will cause the wine to lose freshness, so it is needed to switch to new barrels! every 24 real life hour, the freshness will drop 1. In addition, every 15min pass the 24hr time mark without changing barrel will cause the value to drop 1 as well, so it is advice that you change barrel at least 1 time per day.

Purity: purity is important to the wine, too much substance in the wine will lower the purity of the wine, you will be able to see the substance though the barrel changing and you can clean the impurity by click the mouse on the purple bubbles.

Aging: good wine take time to make, the wine in game is not difference. 1 real life day raise about 14 points in aging for the wine, and to reach to 100 it takes about 7 days which is exactly 1 year in game (280 game days).

Now then, the window will actually look like this:

Note the purple stuff in the barrel, that's the impurity you need to get rid off. In addition not the leftside bar, that's the wine amount, while top right hand corner is the flow control.

What's flow control? well it control the speed of changing of the bottle. Like previously said, if you have a slow flow rate, you will let the air contact the wine more and there for lose the acidity. If you have a quick flow rate, you will have less time to click on the impurity to clean out the barrel. So ultimately, if up to you to decide the speed of flow you want to do at.

here is a video of the process:

Note that if you misclick the purple bubble, it will cause the bubble to appear smaller and thereby making the cleaning process harder.

After you have made your wine, you can bring it to the NPC Pencast, who will evaluate your wine and give you experience point depending on the quality of your wine. In addition you will receive Special Mission Orders from him depending on the wine quality.
Common: 2 Mission Order Papers
Excellent: 3 Mission Order Papers
Best: 4 Mission Order Papers

You will need the papers to do the Protect Corrib Valley and the Fragrance of Wine Shadow Mission, which give out the special Imperial and Emporium Upgrade Coupon.
Note that the each farm will produce different wine, the Grand Blago and the Errans Cru. Each wine will net you 1 type of order (so best decide which order you want before making the wine).

If you have made the best quality wine you will also get a special title:
[Errans Cru] Wine Hero: +15 str + 15 luck +1 pro + 1 def
[Grand Blago] Goddess Dew Maker: +15 mp + 15 int +15 dex

Note that you can only have 1 of the title at each time, if you make Errans Cru first, then make Grand Blago later, the title from Errans Cru will be grayed out.

In addition, if you made the best wine, your wine will be sold at the NPC stores for 5k each, and be sold for a week. You will receive a check in your mailbox for the profit of the wines. There will only be 1 wine sold per in game day, the wine's effects are:
Errans Cru: -30str, +30int, +30dex, +30luck
Grnad Blago: +30str, +30luck, +30int, -30dex
[note the effect will change depending on quality of wine]

Errans Cru comes from Lezzaro's Winery
Grnad Blago comes from Eluned's Winery
info from solar

[EDIT]
and as far as i can tell, you DON'T (and probably never will) buy wine from the wine shop in tara, because it isn't there (and probably never will be?), and because the npcs at the wineries are who sell the wines for each winery

not sure why anyone would buy wine other than to lame the stat titles (get base or get out) though

grand blago wine is like a slightly less damage vales fire, with 1% more crit, it also seems to be useful for refinering.

these count as foods right? as in, you can't possibly stack another food on top of it...
